UPMC is an integrated healthcare delivery network that provides healthcare services to a large portion of the population in Western Pennsylvania. The implementation of dbMotion is enabling integration of patient data across the enterprise in addition to the flexibility of the creation and rapid deployment of enterprise wide applications that leverage integrated patient data. dbMotion is facilitating UPMC’s vision of providing “the right care to the right patient at the right time, every time”.
Operational since 2001, the national-scale health information exchange (HIE) of Clalit Health Services / Rambam Medical Center / Sheba Medical Center is one of the world’s first and most extensive HIEs. Its 16 hospitals (8100+ beds), 1300 primary and specialized clinics and 400 pharmacies, provide health services to over 5 million patients. Using dbMotion’s interoperability platform, this HIE is meeting the complex challenges of organizational growth and clinical system development – a key to any healthcare provider’s success. It currently supports over 15000 users nationwide and holds over 2 billion data records.
