Benny Levin
Chairman of the Board
Benny Levin is acting Chairman of the dbMotion Board of Directors. Before joining dbMotion Mr. Levin co-founded NICE Systems, a worldwide leader of multimedia digital recording solutions for business interaction management. Mr. Levin served as NICE's President and Director from its inception and as Chairman and CEO from February 1998 to 2001. Under Mr. Levin's leadership the company achieved impressive growth and raised significant funds, both on NASDAQ and the Tel-Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE). Prior to founding NICE, Mr. Levin served in the Israel Defense Forces (the “IDF”), where he held various positions in Military Intelligence and retired with the rank of lieutenant colonel. In 1978, he was awarded the Chief of Intelligence Award for Creative Thinking. Mr. Levin is also Vice-Chairman of the Israel Venture Network (IVN) and Chairman of IVN’s Economic Development program called IVN's Economic Reconstruction Initiative (IERI). Investing in entrepreneurship, the IVN strives to promote sustainable social change in Israel, by strengthening education and the economy in the geographic and social periphery, through scalable models. IVN is a network of business executives, corporations and philanthropists in Israel and the United States, bridging gaps in Israel through hands-on venture philanthropy. He holds a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.
Yuval Ofek
CEO
Yuval Ofek is dbMotion's Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining dbMotion Mr. Ofek was involved in small to midsize startups in the Boston area. He served as Chief Technology Officer and Executive Vice President of GiantLoop Networks, a leading provider of Data Center Networking solutions to Global 2000 companies where he oversaw marketing, research and product development. He has served as Chairman of the Board of Oryxa Inc., a small innovative storage software startup based in Waltham, Massachusetts. Mr. Ofek was active as a partner in Storage Enterprise Venture, a private equity investment group involved in a number of storage and networking startups. In the past he has provided strategic consulting to venture capital firms and other investment groups. Prior to joining GiantLoop, Mr. Ofek was President of the Customer Experience Management division of NICE Systems, a worldwide leader of multimedia digital recording solutions for business interaction management, where he was responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and global activities of the company. From 1998 to 2000 Mr. Ofek was Vice President of Enterprise Storage Development at EMC Corporation in Boston, Mass. where he oversaw the development and strategic direction of EMC's enterprise storage platform (Symmetrix). He was responsible for managing the development division. He joined EMC in 1993, working in various positions in research and development. He was also actively involved in defining and planning the company's marketing and positioning. Previously Mr. Ofek also held a position in the data-networking group at Intel Corporation's research and development center in Haifa, Israel. Mr. Ofek holds 68 US & European patents in storage and networking. He has a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.
Itai Katzir
CFO
Itai Katzir is dbMotion's Chief Financial Officer. Before joining dbMotion, Mr. Katzir held several positions at Comverse including CFO World Group, CFO Europe and CFO International. In addition, Mr. Katzir spent several years in Hong Kong as Comverse’s Asia Pacific Headquarter’s CFO and General Manager, Finance and Administration. He has broad experience in managing the wide spectrum of financial needs of an international enterprise and took an active part in the operational merger of Comverse with Boston Technology in Asia Pacific. Prior to his tenure at Comverse, Mr. Katzir held positions at Dun & Bradstreet-Israel and Zoran. Mr. Katzir has a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Management from the Industrial Engineering and Management faculty of the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology and an MBA from Tel Aviv University.
Ziv Ofek
Founder & CTO
Ziv Ofek, Founder and Chief Technology Officer of dbMotion, is the originator of the dbMotion concept for clinical information integration and semantic interoperability that includes advanced applications and tools for coordinated care and population management. His expertise in the field of medical informatics covers a wide range of areas, both in theory and in practice; including in-depth understanding of the different approaches and initiatives in multiple international markets in the field of clinical data integration and semantics. Mr. Ofek has a B.Sc. in Industrial Management Engineering, specializing in Information Systems, from Ben-Gurion University in Beer-Sheva, Israel.
Joel Diamond MD
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Joel Diamond, dbMotion's Chief Medical Officer, has extensive clinical and technology experience. He formerly served as CMIO and chairman of the Physician Advisory Board at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, St. Margaret Memorial Hospital, where he helped achieve 100 percent adoption of CPOE in a community hospital. This is one of the first such successes in the United States. In addition, Dr. Diamond is president of Associates In Technology, a professional services firm that assists healthcare organizations with clinical information technology. A wide range of clients included physician organizations, state medical societies and IT vendors including Misys Healthcare. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Family Practice and a fellow in the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Diamond graduated from medical school at the State University of New York, Health Science Center at Syracuse in 1988, and completed his residency in Family Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), St. Margaret Memorial Hospital in 1991. In addition to his position with dbMotion, Dr. Diamond is an active partner at Handelsman Family Practice in Pittsburgh, PA.
Peter McClennen
President, North America
Peter McClennen is dbMotion’s President of North America. He brings to this position a proven track record in leading and building healthcare business operations. Prior to dbMotion, Mr. McClennen served as president and chief operating officer for AMICAS Inc., a leader in medical image and information technology. He has also served as an executive at GE Healthcare as the global general manager of the imaging informatics worldwide business unit and as its general manager of global marketing. During his tenure at GE, revenues for his division grew significantly while the company achieved top market share worldwide. Under his leadership, many of his past organizations have received awards for technology innovation, market growth and customer value. Mr. McClennen began his career in healthcare with nine years in management of hospitals and ambulatory facilities, where he was responsible for clinical operations, IT and business development. From his experience on both the provider and vendor side of healthcare, he possesses an in-depth understanding of the importance of informatics to healthcare delivery. He has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and History from the University of Rhode Island.
Assaf Halevy
Co-Founder, VP Business Development & Strategic Accounts
Assaf Halevy, Co-Founder and Vice President of Business Development and Strategic Accounts, is one of the inventors of the dbMotion Solution and responsible for a patent application in this field. He has been involved in many aspects of the company's growth including management of the development team responsible for the healthcare products line and international operations manager. While dbMotion was under the corporate umbrella of Ness Technologies (as Ness ISI), Mr. Halevy was involved in evaluating strategic partnerships, due diligence and business development in Ness Technologies' international markets. Mr. Halevy has focused on medical informatics, both in the local and international arena, and directed dbMotion to become an innovative and unique solution in the healthcare market. Mr. Halevy holds a BA, with honors, in Computer Science from The Academic College of Tel Aviv-Jaffa and Tel Aviv University.
Brian Weiss
Executive Vice President, Products
Brian Weiss leads the Products group, bringing to dbMotion over twenty years of experience in building and leading enterprise software design, development and delivery processes. Prior to joining dbMotion, Mr. Weiss was Senior Vice President of Products at Verint Systems where he led several hundred product management, product marketing, and engineering employees in the market-leading contact center solutions division of Verint. During his thirteen year tenure at Verint, Mr. Weiss also served in development management and systems architecture roles in the design and evolution of Verint’s security intelligence and enterprise software platforms. Prior to that, Mr. Weiss spent ten years in a variety of software engineering, consulting and management roles at Microsoft, Computer Associates, Lotus and other leading software vendors. He holds a Bachelor of Science summa cum laude in computer science from the University of Maryland and a Master of Science degree in computer science from Columbia University in New York.
Alli Avishai
Vice President, Global Professional Services
Alli Avishai has extensive experience in enterprise software product and project development. Prior to joining dbMotion, Ms. Avishai held several key positions at Amdocs, a leading provider of software and services that enable integrated customer management, where she was responsible for major US and international accounts. She has a proven ability to deliver increased business performance and a history of successfully organizing and executing large-scale, multimillion dollar, full life cycle projects involving all elements of product deployment and support. Ms. Avishai has a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Haifa.
Ronen Avron
Vice President, International Sales
Ronen Avron has extensive international experience in Sales and Marketing. Prior to joining dbMotion Mr. Avron held the position of Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Metalink, setting new benchmarks in sales revenues and the development of global sales teams and channels. Mr. Avron has also served as Regional Director of Sales and Business Development for Asia-Pacific at Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. where he was responsible for the development and implementation of key regional strategies, direct and indirect sales, project management and implementation. Mr. Avron holds a B.S.E.E. from Tel Aviv University and an MBA from Boston University.
Ilan Freedman
Vice President, Asia-Pacific
Ilan Freedman, a member of dbMotion's executive management team since the company’s spin-off from Ness Technologies in early 2004, heads dbMotion's Asia-Pacific expansion and operations. Prior to this role, from 2004 to 2009, Mr. Freedman served as dbMotion's Vice President of Marketing leading the company's global marketing activities by establishing the dbMotion brand and positioning the company as an industry leader. Before joining dbMotion Mr. Freedman held a wide range of Sales, Marketing, Business Development and Product Management positions at NICE Systems. In his last position as Director of Strategy and Business Development he led new business initiatives, created partnerships and strategic ventures and was one of the thought leaders and pioneers of NICE’s Customer Experience Management (CEM) initiative. Mr. Freedman was NICE System's leading inventor whose innovations led to multiple patents for technologies and solutions. Mr. Freedman holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from The Academic College of Tel Aviv-Jaffa, and an International Executive MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and Tel Aviv University.
Boris Giterman
Vice President, Research & Development
Boris Giterman's experience in Research and Development spans more than 10 years with specializations in distributed enterprise applications based .NET, Web Services, COM+ and Java. Mr. Giterman has been involved in the development of the dbMotion solution from its beginning and is a key developer of the dbMotion system architecture, in particular the dbMotion Populations and Notifications System. Prior to joining Ness-ISI in 2000 Mr. Giterman was Team Leader at Ipex-ISI where he was responsible for the development of a wide variety of internet and management systems. Mr. Giterman has a B.S. and M.S. in Radio Engineering, Summa Cum Laude, from the Moscow Aviation Technology University.
Sapirit Magal
Vice President, Human Resources
Sapirit Magal joined Ness ISI (today dbMotion) at the beginning of 2001 and was instrumental in the successful spin off from Ness Technologies and incorporation of dbMotion in 2004. Ms. Magal has introduced a wide variety of programs that emphasize and foster the development of dbMotion's human resources and the creation of a vibrant and positive corporate culture. She has previously held the positions of Organizational Consultant at the Ziv Institute - Israel's leading organizational consultancy and as an Executive Recruiter at Pilat Technologies, a market leader in the fields of staff assessment and computer-aided Performance Management. Ms. Magal holds a BA in Behavioral Sciences and an MA in Organizational Psychology from Ben Gurion University.
